I am a client-centered therapist who takes an integrative approach combining Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Polyvagal Theory. I believe that reclaiming and re-authoring the stories we tell ourselves about identities is incredibly powerful, particularly so for folx who fall within the LGBTQ+ umbrella. Being a queer and nonbinary person myself, I feel especially driven to help individuals, couples, and other relational systems lessen their distress and live as their fully authentic selves without shame or stigma.

What You Can Expect

I incorporate my whole self in the therapy room rather than hide behind the guise of a detached professional. This can look like casual and more accessible language, a relaxed atmosphere, or a well-timed joke—I firmly believe that therapy doesn’t always have to be so serious, and there can be a lot of healing in humor.

When working with me, you can expect me to follow your lead in session; after all, you are the expert of your life, not me. Together we will explore the ways in which you make meaning, uncover your strengths, and perhaps start to rewrite harmful stories that no longer serve you.

I am particularly drawn to working with people whose identities fall outside the dominant culture, especially LGBTQ+, gender-nonconforming, and polyamorous folx. I support people struggling with anxiety, gender identity, intimacy, sex-related concerns, life transitions, and relationship transitions.

My Story

I have lived in the Pacific Northwest my whole life and love to call this little corner of the world my home. Growing up I knew I was queer and gender nonconforming from a young age, but I didn’t have the language to accurately express my identities until much later in life. It was at this point I started attending therapy myself and doing the difficult work of unlearning harmful patterns and beliefs, particularly around my internalized oppression. After being laid off multiple times while working in the marketing field, I decided to stop trying to force a career that clearly wasn’t working for me and embark on a new one: couples and sex therapy. This area of work combines my passion for identities, meaning-making, relationships, and connections with others, and I look forward to bringing that passion into our sessions together.

Interests

I love music, both listening to it and playing it. I’ll dink around on whatever instrument I can get my hands on, but I’ve been playing guitar for 20+ years and was in a lo-fi surf pop band at one time (emphasis on lo-fi). I also love attending live shows! Other interests include astrology, cats, video games, and Pokemon (ask me about my card collection).
